In some ways people come into your life for some reason or another, and we don't know why; but we have to embrace them as our own, and then we become a part of their lives and before you know it we are a big extended family. I want to thank my pape for being that part, I will for ever love him in my special way, the way he made every one laugh and the way he sang. And especially the way he told the jokes that we all came to love. It was my pleasure to take care of him. I would wiggle his toes every time I came into his hospital room and he would laugh so hard. I also enjoyed reading to him the wonderful stories on Sabbath afternoon, and closing out the Sabbath in worship together, for that I will miss him. Now there are times when I forget that he is gone and I would say to Alvin, "hey, are we going to close out with Pape" and then I would catch myself and we would laugh.
